You are suggested to study NCERT activity 2.5 class 8 science explanation

Activity 2.5 Class 8 Science
· Take two pots and fill each pot half with soil.
· Mark them as A and B.
· Put plant waste in pot A and things like polythene bags, empty glass bottles, and broken plastic toys in pot B.
· Put the pots aside.
· Observe them after 3-4 weeks.
Observation activity 2.5 Class 8 Science
We observe a
dark black-brown matter with a foul smell in pot A in the place of plant waste
whereas there is no change in pot B.
Explanation activity 2.5 Class 8 Science
Plant wastes are
organic matter and get decomposed by the action of microorganisms. After some time,
these wastes get converted into the black-brown matter which is called manure.
On the other hand,
in pot B, polyethylene bags, glass bottles, and plastic toys do not get decomposed
by microorganisms.
