ObservationActivity 2.9 Class 9 Science

After the evaporation of the solution, we get crystals of copper sulphate.

Explanation Activity 2.9 Class 9 Science

This method is known as Crystallisation. This method is used to form  solid crystal from a solution. In crystallization, separation of solid form liquid by evaporating the liquid.

After the evaporation of water, the solution becomes concentrated and when it is allowed to cool slowly, crystals of solid(solute) are formed.

So crystallisation is used to purify an impure solid.

Conclusion Activity 2.9 Class 9 Science

Impure solids can be purified by the crystallisation.

The answer to the above questions

i.     We observe crystals of copper sulphate in the china dish.
