This activity is based on the NIOS Class 10 science and technology (212) Chapter 19- Classification of Living Organisms Module 5- The Living World

Aim

To collect postage stamps related to animals and plants, and prepare an album or chart to understand the diversity of living organisms.

Materials Required

   1.  Postage stamps of animals and plants

   2. Chart or small album

   3. Glue

   4. Scissors

    5. Pen

Procedure

We will collect different postage stamps of plants, trees, insects, birds, and other animals and sort them into two groups: (A) Plants, (B) Animals

Now we paste the stamps on the album or chart and write the name of the plant/ animal, country, and year of the stamps.

We also make two headings on the chart: (1) Stamps on Plants, (2) Stamps on Animals

Observation and Explanation

We observe that there are many types of plants and animals, and they show the biodiversity of different countries.

We learn classification, the importance of nature, and he cultural and national significance of different species.

Conclusion

This activity explains the biodiversity of life on Earth and helps understand different types of living organisms and their features.
