 This activity has been taken from Chapter 2 – Food and its Nutrients of NIOS Class 10 Home Science (216) Module 1 – Home Science in Daily Life.

To calculate the daily protein requirement


Materials Required


   1. Weighing machine

   2. Pen and notebook

   3. Calculator


Procedure


We measure the body weight of each family, including us, using a weighing machine and note down the weight in kilograms.


We calculate the protein requirement using formula


Protein required per day = Body weight(kg) ×1 g

Explanation
